MISTAKE #2 — Only named one possible guardian. What if something happens to your first choice?
If a new client has done any previous planning, often only one legal guardian is named, or maybe a couple.
But what happens if that person or one of the people in the couple dies? What would you want to happen?
You can easily fix this mistake by considering who you would want if your first choice was unavailable and then documenting that decision in your legal guardian nomination.
That’s mistake #2.
